Gary Filer

Optometrist Dip Opt

Gary Filer has been a practicing optometrist since 1978. He’s dedicated to ensuring the highest standard of patient care, supported by the very latest technology. Gary’s specialist area of interest is contact lenses, with a particular interest in complicated contact lens fitting and keratoconus.

Rob Allen

Dip Optom (SA) MCOptom (UK) TPA (NZ)

Rob has 38 years experience as an optometrist with a special interest in advanced contact lens fitting and keratoconus. He is also qualified in ocular therapeutics. Rob has worked in both solo, group and hospital practice and joined Gary Filer Optometrist in 2012.

Brenda Filer

Financial controller

Brenda is responsible for the administration of both the Optometry Practice and the Diabetic Photoscreening Programme. With her wealth of experience in business accounting she has a vital role in the financial management of the practice.

Vanisha Patel

Receptionist

Vanisha joined us in 2009 from a background in the travel industry. She brings a strong focus of customer service and care to the role. 

Mahsa Arefi

Optical Consultant

Mahsa has joint the practice in 2018. She has 7 years of experience in Optical Dispensing specializing in helping to choose the best possible eyewear. She is also an experienced Optical laboratory technician and contact lens teacher.

Cameron Munro

Optical Consultant

Cameron is currently in his second year of studying Medicine and his ambition is to specialise in future.

Cameron has seven year’s experience in Optical Dispensing and has a passion for helping patients choose the perfect frame and lens combination.

Jaz Bedi

Dispensing Optician

Jaz has been working in optical industry from past 9 years and has achieved the qualification of Dispensing Optician through RMIT University of Australia. Jaz is registered with the Optometrist and Dispensing Optician Board.

Jaz loves the customer interaction involved in dispensing, especially the challenge of matching the person’s optical needs to their lifestyle needs.

Outside work, she has acquired a diploma in Business management.

Hana Namik

Optometrist

Hana is a therapeutic optometrist who graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Optometry with Honours in 2015 and a Bachelor of Science specialising in Biomedical Science. She has special interests in ocular therapeutics, dry eyes and myopia control and is passionate about patient care. Hana is an approved glaucoma prescriber which means she can manage low-risk glaucoma cases as well as co-manage high-risk cases alongside ophthalmologists.
